BASIC FUNCTION:    
This is responsible work in supervision of the processing of employee personnel transactions.  Although the incumbent performs clerical functions like the Personnel Assistant I class, this class differs from that of Personnel Assistant I in that the duties performed are primarily focused on the specialized programmatic tasks and functions of personnel transactions, not the clerical tasks. Incumbent may supervise Personnel Assistant I's and other clerical staff participating in the processing of personnel transactions.  The work is varied depending upon the assignment of the individual employee.  The work is performed under the general direction of a higher-level administrator with leeway for the exercising of independent judgment in dealing with both routine tasks and new tasks or where a policy is not yet established.  Does related work as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. May process information to facilitate the preparation of the payroll, including information pertaining to the separation of employees, their appointment, deductions or corrections, tax matters, including the preparation and distribution of annual W-2 forms.
  2. May process information pertaining to the various health and dental insurance programs including its membership, contract, authorizations for services and retirees benefits.
  3. Participates and acts as lead worker in the implementation of upgrades or new software systems pertaining to payroll, benefits, or timekeeping systems.
  4. Enters payroll or benefits data into an automated financial or personnel database.
  5. Trains new employees and departmental users on the use of payroll or benefits systems and processes.
  6. May answer questions of employees regarding benefits, payroll or workers’ compensation issues.
  7. Resolves unusual or difficult personnel or payroll issues.

BASIC FUNCTION:

The work is responsible for the daily administration of the financial aspects of student accounts within the BOCES Health Careers and Services program.  The work involves maintaining students’ accounts and transactions, including the reconciliation of their awarded aid through federal government financial grant and loan programs.  The work includes communicating with both students, parents and vendors regarding the financial aspects of their student accounts and records. The Bursar is also responsible for ensuring compliance with BOCES, federal and state laws and regulations. Work is performed independently and confidentially with students, parents and vendors and acts within the authority granted by the Director of Health Careers & Services at BOCES.  Does related work as required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Is responsible for the administration, maintenance and reconciliation of student financial account records, in accordance with various BOCES, federal and state laws and regulations.
  2. Communicates with students, parents, sponsors and vendors regarding the status of various accounts and financial transactions via phone, email and mail.
  3. Processes the determined student aid awards and works with the Financial Aid Examiner (BOCES) to disburse aid to student accounts.
  4. Posts figures to appropriate accounts, makes all necessary adjustments in balances and verifies and reconciles balances; renews status of accounts as adjustments are made and takes appropriate action as authorizing payment, issuing checks or preparing bills.

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Help Desk Technician is the primary contact with employees regarding repair, troubleshooting. Incumbent provides prescribed technical assistance to users via the telephone for problems that are routine in nature.  Enters calls into department support call tracking database/system.  Troubleshoots technical support requests to determine if problem is caused by hardware/software, or peripheral equipment.  Incumbent answers multiple line telephone in the performance of the duties.  Incumbent may perform duties out of the office at user specific locations.  Supervision is not a responsibility of this class.  Work is performed under the general direction of Network and Systems Technicians. BASIC FUNCTION:

The Program Manager- Educational Support Services will collaborate closely with the ESS team to lead educational programs and initiatives offered by the Educational Support Services division of Capital Region BOCES. This includes responsibility for leading the home instruction program, regional scoring and the regional summer school program. The Program Manager- Educational Support Services will supervise staff supporting related ESS programs and collaborate with school districts and internal teams to evaluate, promote, and support student achievement across K–12.  Additionally, the Program Manager- Educational Support Services will assist the Director of Educational Support Services with other school-related programs and initiatives as needed.

BASIC FUNCTION:

The work involves supervision, administration and staff professional development of various services offered through the Management and Administrative Services division of Capital Region BOCES. Under the general supervision of the Director of Management and Administrative Services, the incumbent of this class is responsible for the general operations of all departments within the Management and Administrative Services division. This includes operational oversight of all services and their staff, direct supervision of program managers and professional development coordination. Incumbent may also have direct oversight over some services within the division. Provides overall leadership and support to the Management Services Division. Does related work as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. BASIC FUNCTION:

The work involves responsibility for independently performing complex clerical operations and administrative support tasks for a unit in a Division. Incumbents spend a substantial amount of time operating a personal computer and the rest of the time on routine administrative tasks to ensure the efficient workflow of the office. The work also involves responsibility for the entry and retrieval of information using software on a computer and using a computer to produce printed material such as letters, memoranda and forms. Incumbents work under general supervision receiving detailed instructions only where policies have not been determined. This class differs from that of Secretary II by the increased time spent on operating software and the more limited scope of duties and decision-making responsibilities.
