The grant writer works to locate grant funds for which school districts, municipalities and/or the BOCES is eligible and prepares applications for such grant funds. Performs other duties as directed by the Program Manager.

BASIC FUNCTION:

The School Security Officer is responsible for providing daily security for the school building and property and assists in maintaining the safety and security of students, staff, building and grounds.  This position patrols school property and alerts Administration of all safety and security concerns.  The School Security Officer responds to emergencies, intervenes in interpersonal conflicts, and directs students and staff in crisis situations.  The School Security Officer must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignments without direct supervision.  Does related work as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Incumbents typically serve as a personal secretary to the head of a department or major division relieving them of administrative and business detail and resolving day-to-day operational problems. This position is distinguished from that of Secretary I by virtue of its expanded scope of program support tasks, increased level of decision-making and the relatively small amount of time spent in the operation of office equipment. The work is performed under the general supervision of an administrator with considerable leeway allowed for the use of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work. This is a professional position that involves the oversight of daily student activities within the Health Careers and Services Program at the Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School.  The incumbent is an active member of the CTE administrative team and oversees and supervises the secondary and post-secondary Health Careers programs and services. BASIC FUNCTION:          

Assists in the preparation and service of food and in the cleaning of kitchen equipment. This is routine manual work performed under immediate supervision in connection with the preparation and service of food. On occasion Food Service Helpers may perform cooking duties involving lesser degrees of skill than regularly required of employees in the classification of Cook. Does related work as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Sets tables and cleans them after meals.
  2. Fills sugar bowls and salt and pepper shakers.
  3. Works on the tray lines serving designated portions per menus.
  4. Fills food carts and delivers foods to designated areas.
  5. Polishes silverware, tables and chairs.
