LOCATION: Career & Technical Education – Albany & Schoharie Campus
SCHEDULE: As Needed/Varies – not to exceed 286 hours through June 30, 2027
BASIC FUNCTION:
The work involves assisting with practical skills training in New York State Emergency Medical Services (EMS) courses offered through the Career & Technical Education division of Capital Region BOCES. Incumbent works directly with the EMT teaching staff and administration of this division to ensure that students are taught practical skills according to NYS EMS curriculum and NYS EMS Protocol. This position differs from the EMT Program Lab Instructor (BOCES) by virtue of the fact that the incumbent possesses a certification that may be required based on various class ratios. Does related work as required.

NOTE: Preference will be given to candidates that hold an American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor Certification.
The selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July 1, 2001.
Vacancies are filled by a certified list provided by Albany County Civil Service. Should no certified list be available, candidates appointed to this position will be serving in a provisional appointment in accordance with New York State Civil Service Law. The candidate must successfully complete a competitive examination and be eligible for appointment in accordance with Civil Service Law and the Civil Service Rules for Albany County to obtain a permanent appointment.
SALARY: BOCES employee salary commensurate with experience and in accordance with contract language.
