Location: Career & Technical Education – Adult Education Program @ Albany South End Campus Center located at 20 Warren Street, Albany and Schoharie campuses
To teach adult learners (18 years and older) the proper practices, procedures and skills to become a security guard (non-armed) training that will lead to entry level employment opportunities.
1. To instruct 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training, 16-Hour On-the-Job Training, and 8-Hour Annual In-Service Renewal. 2. To evaluate learners competence on each training module. 3. To develop in each adult learner an awareness and understanding coupled with the skills and knowledge in the industry. 4. To be responsible for developing and evaluating course plans. 5. To strive to instill in each adult learner safe work habits, the importance of continuation of his/her education and assets of reliability, competence, loyalty and dependability.
A. Should meet New York State Adult Education Certification requirements or able to meet requirements. Requirements for the Adult Education certificate are listed on the home page of the NYS Education Department Teaching Certification under ‘Certification Requirements’ in the category of “Other School Service-Adult Education-Job Skills Training Instructor” http://eservices.nysed.gov/teach/certhelp/CertRequirementHelp.do B. Must have a valid security license issued by NYS Department of State Division of Licensing Services. C. Five (5) year of occupational experience. Prior instructional experience or supervision of adult learners a plus. D. Candidate will have demonstrated the ability to provide sound instruction, ability to work in a team environment, work collaboratively with staff and administration. E. Possess good written and verbal skills.
The selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July 1, 2001.
