Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Coordinator of Workforce Development & Postsecondary Pathways support the delivery of a comprehensive Career & Technical Education program with a focus on connecting students to meaningful career and post secondary opportunities. Working in a team leadership environment, this role oversees work-based learning, employer and post-secondary partnerships, articulation agreements, and career development systems to ensure all students have access to high-quality, authentic experiences aligned to their program and future goals. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Career & Technical Education.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Work is conducted in a “Team Leadership” environment with general supervision of the Director of Career and Technical Education.
  2. Supervise Work-Based Learning team, including WBL coordinators and other professional staff to support expansion of authentic WBL opportunities (internships, apprenticeships, clinicals, job shadowing).
  3. Ensure all students have access to high-quality WBL experiences aligned to program areas and reporting requirements.
  4. Monitor WBL data to ensure equitable access across programs and student populations.
  5. Lead the development and maintenance of partnerships with businesses and industries to support programming, advisory input, and student opportunities.
  6. Oversee the coordination of career fairs, industry events, and student engagement opportunities.
  7. Support advisory committees and alignment of curriculum to workforce needs.
  8. Oversee and expand articulation agreements and dual credit opportunities.
  9. Responsible for ensuring each program maintains active postsecondary partnerships and that opportunities are clearly communicated to students and families.
  10. Oversees the Identification and development of new partnerships aligned to high-demand fields.
  11. Support development of a Career Center and career readiness programming (resumes, interviews, career planning).
  12. Supervise school counselors and collaborate on recruitment, scheduling, SEL, and the CTE Counseling Plan.
  13. Support tracking and expansion of industry-recognized credentials.
  14. Assist with Perkins and other grant writing, implementation, and reporting.
  15. Support program approval/re-approval processes and technical assessment administration.
  16. Support the CTE Professional Development Committee.
  17. Provide administrative coverage as needed and perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  1. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with at least a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, or related field. 
  2. New York State School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) Certification required
  3. Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years in instructional leadership with planning and delivery of new and innovative programming in Career and Technical Education and work-based learning.
  4. Education and/or experience in the supervision and evaluation of instructional staff and programs.
  5. Knowledge about student assessments required.
  6. Understanding of planning process and strategic planning.
  7. Experience and/or knowledge of group processes and consensus building.

SALARY:              BOCES employee salary commensurate with experience and in accordance with contract language.
