LOCATION: Career & Technical Education – Albany Campus
BASIC FUNCTION:
The health careers program is a two-year course designed to instruct high school students to gain valuable hands-on experience in area healthcare and direct support facilities. Students will earn certification as a home health aide (HHA) and nurse assistant (NA). They will also earn American Heart Association BLS/CPR and First Aid certifications. This course will enable students to work as a home health aide, nurse assistant, rehab aide, hospice companion to name a few. Students can enter the job market that pays them a living wage; or to continue their education at the post-secondary level. To be involved in developing partnership programs with local businesses, colleges and universities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Special Requirement: Applicant must have received primary vaccination for COVID19 and required booster, and annual influenza vaccine.
The selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July 1, 2001.
SALARY: BOCES employee salary commensurate with experience and in accordance with contract language.
