Job Description

LOCATION:                        Special Education – Maywood Academy & Airline Drive Academy

BASIC FUNCTION:          

To provide music instruction to children with special needs with indirect support from or in conjunction with the Special Education teacher

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide music instruction and assessment to students with disabilities in Grades K-12 and adhere to any specific IEP needs.
2. This teaching position requires knowledge of behavior management and instructional skills concomitant to the most recent Learning Standards.

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. NYS teaching certificate in Music K-12.
2. Teaching experience with students who have a variety of disabilities.

The selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July 1, 2001.
