Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION: The incumbent will work collaboratively as part of the ESS team to support regional professional development around school improvement and home school program.  The Supervisor-ESS will supervise and collaborate with school districts to evaluate, promote and support all aspects of student achievement in the pre K-12 educational setting including home school initiatives.  The Supervisor-ESS will report to the ESS Program Manager and will assist to carry out all divisional initiatives as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supports home school program initiatives including managing files and required documentation, meeting with school personnel and families and other related duties.
2. Supports all NYS testing scoring, including NYSAA, 3-8 Math and ELA, 5/8 Science, and Summer Regional Regents.
3. Plans, coordinates, and provides professional development opportunities for school and community staff both locally and regionally.
4. Works with vendors on service contracts.
5. Hires and supervises staff.
6. Assists with budgets.
7. Assists with RFP development.
8. Supervises and organizes DASA training and other initiatives as needed.

This skilled professional works independently and collaboratively with colleagues and does other related work as assigned.

Job Qualifications

1. Holds a current New York State administrative certification (SBL SAS or SDA);
2. At least three (3) years of successful, full-time experience as a classroom teacher.
3. Experience as a school district or BOCES administrator preferred.
4. Documented experience in the area of staff development planning and delivery preferred.
5. Documented experience in the areas of leadership and evaluation preferred.
