BASIC FUNCTION:

The work involves responsibility for supervising, coordinating and providing training and assisting school district personnel using financial software applications supported by a BOCES Regional Information Center (RIC).  The incumbent supervises a unit of personnel involved in installing and maintaining accounting and other financial software applications as well as training and instructing the component school district personnel who use them.  This class differs from that of Program Coordinator II (Financial Services) by virtue of the fact that a Managing Program Coordinator I (Financial Services) exercises supervision over Program Coordinators I and II (Financial Services), Program Coordinator Trainees and support staff and assists RIC management in developing the annual budget and costs for services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supervises and trains personnel involved in providing financial record maintenance services to school districts using software applications to perform accounting, payroll, budgeting and other financial activities; training includes both beginning and advanced level use.
  2. Develops and implements financial software applications plans for school districts.
  3. Prepares cost projections for financial software upgrades and new installations.
  4. Contacts governmental agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service and the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance regarding financial regulations and questions.
  5. Assists school district personnel with the implementation of the technology aspects of school district financial management programs.
  6. Tests and installs administrative and student financial software applications/updates and analyzes and resolves computer hardware and software problems either onsite or by phone.
  7. Meets with school district administrators to discuss, assess and plan for financial software needs.
  8. Formats data for conversion from one financial software application to another.
  9. Performs basic computer hardware and financial software installation, maintenance and network administration such as installing stand alone or Local Area Network computer hardware and software, configuring software, adding and removing end-users, and resolving printer problems.
  10. Meets with school district technology personnel and administrators to discuss requests for program changes, advise on hardware and software purchases and coordinate technology projects.
  11. Orders and tracks financial software applications purchased for school districts and maintains detailed written records on training and services provided.
  12. Participates in regional user group meetings for the support and development of services supported by BOCES.
  13. Distributes training documents, manuals, revisions, and memos, newsletter and other information pertaining to financial software use in a school district.
  14. Documents financial software changes requested by component school districts and forwards it to the appropriate software company.
  15. Researches new and updated software before distributing it to a school district.
  16. Advises and makes recommendations to school district personnel regarding financial software purchases.

BASIC FUNCTION:  
Incumbent in this class designs, installs and maintains personal computers, local and wide area networks and the associated peripheral equipment. Incumbent has the responsibility for the identification and correction of network and system problems.  Incumbent performs duties during normal business hours or during the night and weekends as required.  Work is performed under the general supervision of a Senior Network and Systems Technician (BOCES) or other professional.  Does related work as required.

The work involves responsibility for training and instructing school district teachers and teaching staff using classroom software applications supported by a BOCES Regional Information Center (RIC).  The incumbent provides technical assistance to teachers and teaching staff regarding planning and implementing technology integration into curriculum in alignment with New York State learning standards.  The incumbent also provides technology planning services for classroom use.  The incumbent also analyzes and provides recommendations to resolve software problems. 

The position of Program Coordinator I (Instructional Services) differs from that of Program Coordinator II (Instructional Services) by virtue of the fact that a Program Coordinator II (Instructional Services)’s duties and responsibilities, as well as the knowledge and experience, are more extensive than that of a Program Coordinator I (Instructional Services), and a Program Coordinator II (Instructional Services) serves as a lead worker.

Plumbing Technology course is a comprehensive hands-on one-year program designed to prepare students for entry level positions in the plumbing industry.

  1. To teach the essential skills, including safety protocols, plumbing math and blueprint reading, while working with various piping materials such as plastic and copper.

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Help Desk Technician is the primary contact with employees regarding repair, troubleshooting. Food Service Helper Substitutes2026-4

BASIC FUNCTION:          

Assists in the preparation and service of food and in the cleaning of kitchen equipment. This is routine manual work performed under immediate supervision in connection with the preparation and service of food. On occasion Food Service Helpers may perform cooking duties involving lesser degrees of skill than regularly required of employees in the classification of Cook. Does related work as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Sets tables and cleans them after meals.
  2. Fills sugar bowls and salt and pepper shakers.
  3. Works on the tray lines serving designated portions per menus.
  4. Fills food carts and delivers foods to designated areas.
  5. Polishes silverware, tables and chairs.
  6. Cleans dining rooms and dish and linen closets.
  7. Cleans, washes and otherwise prepares vegetables and fruit for cooking.
  8. Assists in the preparation of salads and desserts.
  9. Helps cooks in any phases of their duties.
  10. Washes dishes, pots and pans by hand or machine.
  11. Sweeps, mops and cleans kitchen.
  12. May act as cashier.
  13. Working knowledge of the proper methods of serving food and of the care of tableware, glassware, silver, and kitchen appliances.
  14. Ability to follow oral and written directions.

School Nurse (10M/FT)2026-15

LOCATION:          Special Education – Maywood Academy & Airline Drive Academy          

BASIC FUNCTION:  
These duties involve responsibility for assisting the physician in providing medical services to school children. Incumbent in this class provides emergency first aid for the staff and students.  The work is performed under the supervision of the higher-level administrator.  Does related work as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provides emergency first aide services for the students and staff.
  2. Responsible for scheduling and performing vision, hearing screenings, and scoliosis checks.
  3. Consults with parents and physicians and dispenses medications as prescribed by the physician.
  4. Assists students in the administration of inhalation therapy and insulin injections as prescribed.
  5. Assists the school physician in performing class screening and interscholastic athletics physical examinations.
  6. Submits accident reports on students and employees and provides follow-up with parents and/or employees.
  7. Participates as a member of management team of professionals addressing the issues of health and safety as they relate to students and staff.
  8. Assists the faculty and staff with the reporting of sexual and physical abuse cases.
  9. Serves on various student and management teams representing the medical profession with concerns for health and safety.
  10. Prepares the health office budget and maintains an inventory of supplies.
  11. Keeps and maintains complete and accurate health records.
  12. Good knowledge of the nursing principles and techniques and their relation to medical and surgical practices and skill in their application.
  13. Skill in the use of nursing techniques and practices.
